Identity and classification
Actias rhodopneuma is a member of Saturniidae. Röber described it in 1925 in the genus Euandrea. [1]
Morphology and identification
The identified Laotian pair illustrated in the 2025 survey shows narrow forewing eyespots shaped like dark crescents, smaller oval hindwing eyespots and long, tapering hindwing tails. The male has yellow wings and a yellow body, with broad salmon-pink outer wing regions continuing along the tails. The female is paler, with greenish-white wings, a white body, fine transverse wing lines and narrower pink edging along the tails. Both specimens have a dark reddish forewing leading edge. [2]

Nomenclature and history
The original combination was Euandrea rhodopneuma Röber, 1925. Modern taxonomic records place the species in Actias. [1]
Specimen views
The 2025 Laotian study illustrates an identified male and female from the Boun Neua area. It also provides a male genitalia plate from Phongsaly. [2]
Artistic interpretation
The compositions emphasize pale yellow and pink colour regions, feathered antennae and the long hindwing tails.
Display and care
Keep the enclosure closed and display it in indirect light, away from heat and damp conditions. Handle the frame by its edges and clean only its exterior according to the maker’s instructions.
